How it works:

The tilting plate method is used to measure the dynamic contact Angle by placing the sample on a slowly tilting sample table, and analyzing the contact Angle formed by the droplet on the surface and the lower side of the tilting sample, that is, corresponding to the receding Angle when the droplet is continuously withdrawn, and the advancing Angle when the droplet is continuously increased. Until the droplet begins to roll/slide on the running inclined plane, the critical contact Angle on the lower side of the droplet at the moment of test rolling/sliding is the larger advance Angle, and the critical contact Angle on the upper side is the larger retreat Angle. At this time, the Angle between the sample surface and the horizontal plane is the rolling/sliding Angle. The corresponding approximate Young's contact Angle can be deduced from the forward contact Angle and backward contact Angle formed by the test droplet and the solid surface.
